MSI C-Series Laptops Launch

n case you hadn't notice MSI is continuing to resolutely cranking out notebook after netbook after notebook. And as such, the arrival of the C-Series - comprising the CR600, CR700, CX600 and CX700 - shouldn't be a particularly shocking one.

The systems aren't exactly exciting, but with pricing will start from $549.99 in the US, with a UK launch highly likely, that's not too much of a criticism. Features are shared somewhat between the various systems. The CX600 and CR600, for instance, both feature the same 16in, 1,366 x 768 pixel display while the CX700 and CR700 have a larger 17.3in display, with a 1,600 x 900 pixel resolution.

Inside, however, the CX600 and CX700, and CR600 and CR700 have more in common respectively. While the latter two offer ATI Mobility Radeon HD4300 graphics, which might just be enough for the odd but of gaming (of Spore or Football Manager level graphical intensity, at least) the latter two systems have mere nVidia GeForce 8200 GPUs - enough to run Aero and not much else. An upgraded version of the offers a faster 2.1Ghz T4300 (which hardly seems worth the effort) and a Blu-ray drive.

All of the C-Series have 4GB of RAM, 320GB hard drives and run Vista home Premium. Three USB ports are present across the board, along with Draft-n wireless and a 4-in-1 card reader. The CRs best the CXs in also offering HDMI outputs. As I already said, nothing remarkable, but nothing to complain about either.
