Apple iTablet seen by veteran tech analyst

"Better than your average movie experience," apparently.

The endless rumours that Apple is preparing the launch of an iTablet touchscreen multimedia Mac just got a little more real, with one analyst claiming that he's actually seen one of the mythical devices.

The grizzled veteran reckons he's not only spied the full touchscreen unicorn of the tech world, but has also handled the beast, saying that holding it in your hand is "better than the average movie experience."

The unnamed, intrepid spy says that Apple is still aiming for a September launch for the device and that it will cost between $699 and $799 when the specialist media player finally arrives. He also reckons that a host of other companies are shielding their hands until Apple finally lets the cat out of the bag.

While this is more promising news for those eagerly awaiting Apple's foray into this sector, it's by no means confirmation of its existence. While the likelihood is that the "veteran" is on the level, we won't be sure until we hear fanboys whooping and hollering when Steve Jobs makes the announcement official.
