After debuting the HD700 last year, Sanyo is preparing to intro the next upgrade- Xacti HD800. This pocket camera shoots 720p widescreen video in H.264 and has an eight-megapixel CMOS sensor that picks up 70 percent more visual data, thus promising sharper pictures at the same resolution. Compared to the HD700, this upgrade boasts of better color accuracy and is also the first Xacti camera of any kind to have 3D noise reduction that cleans the image in real time.
Specs include 5X zoom and face detection with live tracking. It has the capability to shoot video in scenes as dark as three lux and still photos are shot at full sensor resolution. Users will also find an improved method for offloading and publishing video taken either through USB or the SDHC card and gives them a direct full-resolution preview through an HDMI video output.
Sanyo Xacti HD800 will be out in black, gold, and pink. Although Sanyo has announced 22nd August as the release date for the camera in Japan, an American version should follow suit soon. It will sell for about $463.
