Lenovo ThinkPad T61 and R61 also supports Penryn

Just the way laptop makers jumped on to the Santa Rosa bandwagon couple of month ago, they're jumping on Penryn platform. Intel's latest chip, built using 45nm fabrication tech, is considered to be the next big standard for notebook processors. The latest to join Penryn faray is Lenovo. The firm has decided to updated their Thinkpads - T61 and R61 - with Penryn chips. The 15.4-inch R61 is a good portable desktop replacement with fast processor, and powerful graphics card. The notebook now features Intel Core 2 Duo T8100 (2.1 GHz) processor, 2GB DDR2 RAM, NVIDIA Quadro NVS 140M graphics card (128MB), 160 hard drive, and DVD Super Multi DL.

The T61 is a less-powerful machine with 1GB RAM, 120GB storage, and Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) X3100. Both of them are pre-built with Windows Vista, but can be customized with XP Pro. As for official press release, you should get it by next week.
